Is there a cot net that is safe to use to keep my cat out of sleeping with the baby ? I’m due August and worried my cat will keep getting in the cot.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Red Nose with your question.

Is there a cot net that is safe to use to keep my cat out of sleeping with the baby ? I’m due August and worried my cat will keep getting in the cot.

Red Nose recommends the safest place to sleep a baby is in a cot that meets the Australian standards.

We are unaware of any cot or bassinet that would prevent a cat from jumping into it, which of course may pose a risk to the baby in terms of covering the head & face.

Some cot or bassinet nets are loose & may be pulled down by the baby as they get older.
I am unaware of any safety recommendations independent of the companies that manufacture these products.

I have heard other parents comment about having a (see thru) door on the bedroom where baby is sleeping.

Kind regards, Kasey, Red Nose
