Grace

Hello, I have found this bassinet type sleeper called the mumbelli and cannot find much definitive sids info online however it does state on the website that it 'meets or exceeds the Consumer Product Safety Commission's (CPSC) regulations for infant products'. I feel as if it is sids safe based on the guidelines however was wondering whether you could provide your evaluation. I'm looking to use it as a bassinet NOT as a co sleeper. Thank you in advance. See below for links to the mumbelli: https://mumbelli.com https://youtu.be/7cOiwcMaM1o Kind regards, Grace

Hi Grace,

Thank you for contacting Red Nose with your question.

Red Nose recommends that the ideal place for a baby to sleep is in a cot that meets the Mandatory Australian Standards.

Portable sleep products like the product you describe mostly have soft padded sides & base.
Red Nose recommends that baby sleep on a firm mattress that is well fitting & flat.

As you quote above it meets the American (CPSC)  standards for infant products - this generally refers to what the product is made out of, not related to Safe Sleep guidelines.

Product Safety Australia has the information about buying a bassinet
