Community Fundraising Manager

Role Purpose:

The Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for driving revenues through the successful delivery of a range of fundraising programmes and third party events. The ability to develop new fundraising opportunities that will significantly increase revenue is also a key component of this role. The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Work with a team of Regional Fundraising Coordinators and Regional Managers to ensure delivery of fundraising campaigns and initiatives at a local level
  • Develop and implement the community fundraising strategy to support income growth and strong, positive return on investment.
  • Manage the administration, approval and web publication of all community events registered through the website or with Red Nose
  • Manage a range of third party sporting events and online fundraising platforms providing regular reports and tracking income.
  • Build relationships with fundraisers and community event organisers that will support longer term commitment to Red Nose.
  • Contribute to the Red Nose data management practices and the development and documentation of team processes across all state and territory offices

Due to the nature of this role the incumbent will need to regularly work outside of normal hours and travel interstate.

Essential

  • Strong strategic planning and negotiation skills
  • Over 4 years community fundraising experience, with particular emphasis on event management including experience working with Senior Executive teams.
  • Project management experience, including end-to-end management of events.
  • Efficient with ability to multi-task, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • A creative thinker who shows initiative and is able to make decisions and solve problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Strong relationship building skills with proven ability in working with community groups and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to finite timelines
  • Ability to work cooperatively and with flexibility within a team environment

Desirable

  • Experience in the development and management of fundraising programs and events
  • Experience in the development and delivery of fundraising communications
  • An understanding of OH&S principles and practice when working with volunteers in the workplace or within the community on Red Nose events and activities
  • Qualifications or significant experience in event management, volunteer management, communication.

The Opportunity:

Would you like to help Red Nose ‘reduce 9 deaths of babies and children a day’ to ZERO? Red Nose is seeking a ‘hands on’ Marketing and Communications Manager to help us deliver our key messages to the Australian community that will help save little lives.

The Role:

  • Contribute to and enhance the strategic goals and direction of Red Nose marketing and communications strategy
  • Review, produce, implement, distribute and monitor marketing materials, communications and campaigns
  • Preparation of periodic reporting for Executive Group
  • Prepare clear simple messaging for communications across a range of digital and social media
  • Prepare, edit, and publish inspirational stories and articles for our newsletters, research outcome stories, annual report and other publications
  • Provide advice and input into fundraising appeals to maximise reach and promotion
  • Develop and roll-out a number of digitally lead health promotion and awareness campaigns
  • Positive and collaborative attitude
  • Coordinate and attend a national series of Health Promotion events

Key Skills and Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or related field
  • Experience in health or the Not For Profit sector
  • Demonstrated experience in devising and implementing communications and campaign plans
  • Experience with content writing for publication and communication materials for external stakeholders
  • Hands on marketing professional who can work autonomously across multiple projects and business units with tight timelines
  • Ability to operate under pressure with a high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborate approach
  • Ability to review processes and improve existing methods
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders including health professionals
  • Project management experience including supporting the production of health promotion videos, audio and photography for use on digital platforms and e-learning products
  • Experience in public relations and media advocacy
  • Ability to gain an solid understanding of Red Nose Education, Safe Sleeping public health and grief and loss services and messaging

Grief and Loss Team Leader

Reporting to the Grief and Loss Manager, the Grief and Loss Team Leader plays a leading role in the delivery of Red Nose support services. The appointee will assist the Grief and Loss Manager to manage the Red Nose Grief and Loss Services nationally, assisting in the development of a strong clinical team and operational governance, ensuring a high quality client experience. This role will be involved in the management of the Red Nose National Intake and Brief Intervention Service and the counselling team, providing operational and clinical oversight on a daily basis. This role will also entail an element of providing direct counselling to individuals, couples and families within a short-term model, through face to face, telephone, video or groups.

Senior Bereavement Counsellor / Educator

Reporting to the Grief and Loss Team Leader, the Senior Bereavement Counsellor/Educator plays a key role in the delivery of Red Nose Grief and Loss services and supporting the Grief and Loss Team Leader to provide clinical support to the Grief and Loss Team. The appointee will work as part of our national team of counsellors to predominately provide bereavement counselling and support to people affected by the sudden or unexpected death of a child. Based in our Lilyfield, NSW office the person appointed to this role will be committed to the development of a strong clinical team that ensures a high quality client experience. There will also be some involvement with the provision of education to the community and health professionals regarding grief and bereavement following the death of a child.

Along with your counselling and health related qualifications, you will have experience working with people experiencing grief, loss, change and life transition. Experience working with volunteers will be highly regarded as will some experience in offering education and training. We are looking for someone with a passion, drive and commitment to succeed.
